Chicken Punjabi

Ingredients:
Chicken cut into pieces-750 gms
Oil-6tblspns
Onion paste-1tblspn
Onions chopped -2medium
Red chilli powder-2tspn
Ginger-garlic paste-2tblspn
Turmeric powder-1tspn
Coriander powder-1tspn
Cumin powder-1tspn
Tomato puree-1/2cup
Slited green chillis-4
Finely chopped coriander leaves-2tblspns
Garam mashala powder-1/2tspn
Salt & sugar- as per taste


Method:
Place chicken pieces in a bowl.Add 1tspn red chilli powder,
1tblspn ginger-garlic paste,onion paste & salt;mix them well &
keep aside for 1hour.
Heat oil in a frying pan,add chopped onions & saute till
golden brown.Now,add 1tblspn ginger-garlic paste & saute
till raw smell disappears.
Now add marinated chicken & turn them well so that they
get equally cooked from all sides.Add turmeric powder,1tspn
red chilli powder,coriander powder,cumin powder & mix well.
Add tomato puree & saute till oil surfaces.Add slited green
chillis along with salt & mix.
Add 2 cups of water,cover the pan,cook for 2mins.
Wait till gravy thickens.
Finally add chopped coriander leaves & garam mashala
powder.Cover again & cook for another 2mins.Serve hot.
