Yogurt gourd(Doi Potol)


Ingredients:

Potol/Pointed gourd-5/6
Plain yogurt-100gms
Tomato paste-1tspn
Oil-2tspn
Ghee-1tspn
Cloves-2
Cardamoms-2
Red chilli-1
Turmeric powder-1/4tspn
Green chilli paste-1tspn
Red chilli powder-1/4tspn
Ginger-cumin paste-1tspn
Shredded coconut-1/4th tspn(optional)
Salt & sugar-as per taste


Method:

Peel off the pointed gourds & make slits on them.
Heat oil in a frying pan,fry the gourds till they become
reddish.Keep them aside.
Beat the yogurt with red chilli powder & turmeric powder.
Keep it aside.
Now,temper rest of the oil with cloves,cardamoms &
red chilli.Wait till the fragrance comes out & add tomato
& green chilli paste together.Fry for a minute.Then add
 ginger-cumin paste & fry them till the raw smell goes
 away.
Now,add the yogurt,stir well for 2-3mins.Add the fried gourds.
Now,add salt & sugar as per taste.Let it boil.
Pour ghee before switching off the gas oven.Add
shredded Coconut on it.Serve hot.
